Future Skills Programme

The skills landscape is changing and to support businesses as they evolve, we have developed the Future Skills Fund.

This multi-strand programme supports the development of work-related skills and knowledge for both new and existing employees. Funding is available to help businesses build a skilled, future-ready workforce and address emerging skills needs.

Future Apprenticeships - Salary Support Programme

Warwickshire businesses recruiting apprentices in new and emerging technology, such as vehicle electrification, battery technology, digital skills, or sustainability, can apply for £2,000 salary support per apprentice, for up to three apprentices per business each financial year.

Fair Futures Apprenticeship – Salary Support Programme

This fund is designed to support Warwickshire SME’s in hiring new apprentices who face barriers such as special educational needs, disabilities, or mental and/or physical health challenges or, who are enrolled on an inclusive apprenticeship.

Businesses can apply for a one-off salary support payment of £2,000, up to a maximum of 3 people per financial year.

Workforce Futures Fund

This fund helps businesses build the skills needed for future growth by supporting employee training in battery technology, vehicle electrification, digital skills and sustainability.

Funding of up to £500 per employee is available for a maximum of three employees per financial year. Both accredited and non-accredited training courses are eligible.

Fair Futures: Upskilling & Training Support Grant

The Fair Futures Training Grant is designed to support employees who face barriers such as special educational needs, disabilities, or mental and/or physical health challenges and are looking to upskill.

The fund provides up to £1,000 training support per employee to Warwickshire based small to medium sized businesses.

The fund can support up to 3 employees per business and is for any age. The courses can be accredited or non-accredited.

New Direction 50+ Skills Investment Fund

This programme is designed to support over 50’s in gaining new knowledge and skills to help them progress within the workplace. It’s available to Warwickshire businesses who are wishing to invest in the progression of a 50+ employee to undertake further training which contributes to the future needs of the business.

  • The programme offers up to £500 grant funding per employee towards training or a qualification to be delivered by a college or independent training provider.
  • This is capped at 3 people per business, per financial year.
