Colleague Wellbeing at The MTC
"Colleague Wellbeing is at the heart of everything that we do at the MTC"
Colleague Wellbeing is at the heart of everything that we do at the MTC; our people are our greatest asset and we need to keep our ‘Heartcount’ healthy in all aspects of both physical and mental wellbeing. The Covid-19 pandemic naturally provided us with some challenges in this area, as it did for every employer, but we have risen to the challenge to support our colleagues during this time and put colleague wellbeing at the forefront of our People Plan.
Supporting our colleagues
Our colleagues have wellbeing support via our team of 48 ‘Wellbeing Champions’, who are available during working hours, plus colleagues have access to our Employee Assistance Programme which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
New initiatives
We have recently launched a company-wide Wellbeing project to drive the agenda forward across our four campuses.
In January 2021, the MTC HR Team launched ‘Wellness Wednesday – Mind, Body & Soul’, an initiative over three months with a weekly newsletter sharing articles and features supporting a holistic approach to colleague Wellbeing.
Also, we have provided Mental Health Awareness sessions for colleagues on an ongoing basis and for managers we have been offering training with tools to support the identification of stress in colleagues (personal and occupational) and guidance on how best to support those in need.
With the pandemic we knew we had to do more to support our colleagues and the beat of the Wellbeing drum at The MTC is stronger than ever. We have plans to make it louder and louder.
