Connect to Work
Connect to Work is a voluntary employment support programme launched by the UK Government. It’s designed to help people who face barriers to employment - such as health conditions, disabilities, or specific disadvantages - find and stay in meaningful work.
Connect to Work is funded by the UK Government.
Whether someone is unemployed or at risk of leaving their job, the programme offers up to 12 months of personalised, person centred, one-to-one support.
Who can we help?
Warwickshire residents.
Aged 18 or over.
With a disability, a health condition or complex barriers to getting work or, currently in work but struggling to retain or move on in your job.
Eligibility
- People with disabilities or long-term health conditions
- Offenders and ex-offenders
- Carers and ex-carers
- Homeless people
- Armed Forces veterans and current Armed Forces personnel
- People with drug or alcohol dependencies and history of dependency presenting a barrier to employment
- Care experienced young people and care leavers
- Refugees (resettled Afghans and people on the Ukrainian scheme)
- Victims and survivors of domestic abuse
- Young people involved in or at risk of serious violence
- Victims of modern slavery.
Proof of eligibility
All potential participants will need to provide some proof that they meet the required criteria to be on the programme.
Things that are required:
- Proof of right to work in the UK
- Proof of National Insurance
We can help you in providing that proof.
Suitability
- Motivated to find paid employment
- Not on another Department for works and Pensions (DWP) work programme
- At risk of losing your paid work.
People seeking support – your journey
After we check that you are eligible and suitable for support will allocate you a Journey Guide.
We will follow a recognised framework, and our experienced Journey Guide’s will work with you on a one-to-one basis. Together, we’ll build a plan that works towards you finding a job that matches your skills, experience, and interests, supporting you every step of the way. Our aim is to get you into a job and then train you rather than use traditional job searching methods.
Getting to know you
We’ll meet with you and talk about your strengths, experience, and what you would like to achieve. We’ll also discuss things you may need additional help with and start to talk about what kind of jobs you would like to do.
Guidance and support
Depending on what you need, we will start to work on things like building your CV, job interview practice and building your confidence through short work tasters.
Job searching
With a better understanding of your skills and career goals, we can now support you in applying for suitable roles with our network of employers that will be able to provide you with any additional support you may need
Continued support
When we have found a job, we will work with you and your new employer to make sure you settle in well and are receiving the training and support you need to succeed.
Employers
We work with a large network of local employers to deliver our services. These employers are inclusive and support participants with mock interview practice, insight days, work trials and paid work opportunities.
Employers who work with us help build a more diverse and inclusive workforce.
Time and money are also saved rather than using the usual recruiting methods.
Our network of employers find that they reach candidates who are highly motivated to work for your business and make it a success. There is increased productivity as employees are supported and encouraged and finally there is an increased retention rate in employees.
